Holiday Party and Officer Updates
Another great turnout!!!

The holiday party was once again a great success. For the second year in a row, the meeting room was packed and we had overflow seating in the restaurant area at Tres Amigos. The business meeting presented us with a few changes to the COVNA executive team, as well as raising dues to $15. Paco Bertsch is replacing Ron Mattison as President and Nelly Ramirez has stepped up to become Vice President (along with continuing to be our Austin Neighborhood Council Delegate). A big thanks to Ron for providing leadership and hosting many of the events over the past few years.

A Note From Our President

I hope everyone is off to a great 2017 and I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can over the next two years. One significant change that we made at the Holiday Party was raising the dues to $15. For those who were not able to attend the party, I wanted to provide an update as to why the executive team proposed the increase in dues. Over the last two years, we have seen an increase in the attendance of our events. We hope to continue this trend and in doing so we will continue to increase our spending on hosting the events. One of our largest expenses has been the Holiday Party and it appears that we have outgrown the space at Tres Amigos. I will be looking for a larger space to accommodate everyone, which potentially might increase the cost of hosting that event.

As a reminder, you can now pay your dues online

We are looking forward to a great year!

Neighborhood Birds!

Doug Tabony has compiled a neighborhood bird guide complete with facts, photos, and recordings of bird songs/chirps.

Read up and impress your friends and family with your newfound knowledge of Castlewood's local flora and fauna.

Check 'em Out!

I went ahead and created a top level menu item titled "nature" so everyone can find the nature guides easily.
