COVNA
Castlewood Oak Valley Neighborhood Association

Spring Fling

**Sunday, April 22 1-4pm **

**9408 Queenswood Drive**

Our annual spring get-together is just around the corner. Come out to meet long-time residents and to welcome our newest additions. We'll have a bounce house for the kids and pie contest for the bakers in the neighborhood. COVNA will have food from Rudy’s again, and drinks. Please feel free to bring your favorite sides & desserts to share and a cozy lawn chair.

DON’T FORGET TO PAY YOUR MEMBERSHIP DUES

It’s not too late to pay your 2018 membership dues. Your annual voluntary membership fee of only $15 supports our mission of advocacy for our neighborhood and our sense of neighborhood community. COVNA officers stay involved in Austin neighborhood organizations such as Austin Neighborhood Council (ANC), Kitchen Cabinet meetings (Ann Kitchen’s, District 5 city council member advisory group), and receive notices from the City of Austin that could affect Castlewood-Oak Valley residents. COVNA holds formal meetings as needed to help solve problems and lots of fun events! You can pay online at Pay Online, by enclosing your check with the form below or by dropping check in lockbox on Hal’s porch swing at 2400 Comburg Castle Way.

Register for Lemonade Day

This year's neighborhood garage sale will coincide with Lemonade Day, May 5! The organization's goal is to introduce kids to entrepreneurship through a real-world experience. We encourage any (and all) kids interested to register at https://lemonadeday.org/austin so they can join the other kids all over Austin that are participating.

Please call in traffic complaints

I’m sure we are all aware of the increase in cut-through traffic in the neighborhood. We encourage everyone to please call 311 with your traffic complaints. Their call logs help us build a documented case for any action we would want to take as a neighborhood. Also know that they are in the input stages for Davis Lane improvements. It appears that one of their primary goals is to improve traffic flow (without widening Davis as there is no more right of way) so as to alleviate some of the cutting through neighborhoods at peak traffic times.

Looking for neighborhood volunteers

The tenure of several of the executive committee members is coming to an end in December so we are searching for more volunteers to join our ranks. Interested in event planning, neighborhood advocacy and/or helping us keep track of city goings-on? Please contact Paco (your friendly neighborhood association President) with interest at pacobertsch@gmail.com.
