Summer Picnic

Come close out the summer with us before the busy of the school year sets in. COVNA will provide burgers, hot dogs, a vegetarian option, chips, and drinks. There will also be a photo booth compliments of our neighbors at The Traveling Photo Booth. Please feel free to bring your favorite sides (potato salad, cole slaw, beans, etc) & desserts to share. Back to School

AISD starts classes on Monday, August 20! For those of you driving in the morning and afternoons, be prepared to slow down for the kids walking to and from school and eyes and hands ears off those cell phones as you roll through school zones!

CROWNSPOINT UPDATE

Thank you to everyone that took the time to contact us with your feed- back for bike lanes on Crownspoint. We had an overwhelming “Nay” on the idea. We will be passing all feed- back on to Austin Transportation De- partment and will keep the neighbor- hood apprised of updates if there are any.

VOLUNTEER MEET-UP

Interested in learning more about our volunteer positions and meeting some of the neighbors that keep this newsletter and neighborhood events going? Pencil in September 15 from 4-5pm for our first ever volunteer meetup! We will finalize location as date approaches.

LADIES LUNCHEON

A group of former and current neigh- bors gather every quarter for a casu- al lunch at a nearby restaurant. The next meeting is September 10th at Mandola’s Italian. If you’d like to receive invitations for upcoming luncheons, please send your name, address, telephone, and email to wwalker17@austin.rr.com.

CITY WATERING SCHEDULE

Water between Midnight-10 am and 7 pm-Midnight.

Even Address: Automatic Irrigation on Thursday. Hose End Sprinklers on Thursday and Sunday.

Odd Address: Automatic Irrigation on Wednesday. Hose End Sprin- klers on Wednesday and Saturday.

Tree bubblers, hand watering, and drip irrigation are allowed any day/ any time. Home car washes are allowed with buckets or auto-shut off hoses.

Looking for neighborhood volunteers

The tenure of several of the executive committee members is coming to an end in December so we are searching for more volunteers to join our ranks. Interested in event planning, neighborhood advocacy and/or helping us keep track of city goings-on?
